According to the annual Uniform Crime Reporting Data of 2017 published by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Wilson County recorded a total of 94 violent crimes and 791 property crimes. These figures include 5 robberies, 88 aggravated assaults, 236 burglaries, 4 arsons and 457 larceny-thefts. When compared to county crime statistics from 2016, these figures represent a 16.81% drop in violent crimes. However, these figures also show that Wilson County experienced a 9.1% rise in property crimes in 2017 when compared to figures from the previous year.

Criminal history records are compiled and maintained by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for the state of Tennessee. This bureau offers public access to its database, which enables interested parties to conduct statewide background checks. It should be noted that this service costs a non-refundable fee of $29 per background check.

How to find sex offender information
The Wilson County Sheriff’s office provides online access to a Sex Offender Registry which allows interested parties to obtain information on all registered sex offenders in the county. Interested parties can search this registry either by first or last name, city, TID number or zip code.
How to find jail and inmate information
The Sheriff’s Office Corrections Division handles all queries related to jail and inmate information. Parties interested in obtaining inmate and jail information can do so by contacting the Wilson County Jail at (615) 444-1412 (option 1).
In addition to this, interested parties can fund inmate accounts by either utilizing the kiosk available in the jail lobby located at 105 East High Street, Lebanon, TN 37087 or online through Jailfunds. The jail lobby kiosk is only available from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays and from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Also, there is a $100 daily deposit limit when using a credit card to fund an inmate’s account.

The Wilson County Assessor maintains information on all local property for the county. Vital Records
The Tennessee State Department of Health is the primary custodian of birth, death, marriage and divorce records for the state of Tennessee. Certified copies of these records are usually only accessible to the registrants, immediate family, legal guardians of the registrant or a party legally authorized by the registrant. However, Wilson County also maintains and issues some of these vital records locally. All interested parties who wish to obtain vital records are required to have a valid government-issued ID.
